Most people simply explore the shops and take the train when in Skagway, but there is a beautiful little hidden secret near the outskirts of town. When leaving town, there is an old cemetery (100+ years old) near the train tracks. The cemetery itself is neat and interesting to explore, but the true beauty lies beyond it. You will see a very obvious sign that directs you to the waterfall, which is less than a five minute walk through a very short path. It is definitely worth it!about 1 year ago

Despite being overrun with tourists May thru September, I really liked Skagway.
The downtown area (while partially gift-shop-infested) is still cute and full of gold-rush era buildings. It actually has access to the ALCAN = roads to Alaska, Canada, Lower 48. It does not have a Wal-Mart. It does have people who drove their campers up for holiday! I would have liked to stay more than just the afternoon.
The White Pass rail tour is really beautiful.over 2 years ago
