Gold Rush Cemetery & Reid Falls by ericaileneleon

Most people simply explore the shops and take the train when in Skagway, but there is a beautiful little hidden secret near the outskirts of town. When leaving town, there is an old cemetery (100+ years old) near the train tracks. The cemetery itself is neat and interesting to explore, but the true beauty lies beyond it. You will see a very obvious sign that directs you to the waterfall, which is less than a five minute walk through a very short path. It is definitely worth it!

Liked it by kate

Despite being overrun with tourists May thru September, I really liked Skagway.

The downtown area (while partially gift-shop-infested) is still cute and full of gold-rush era buildings. It actually has access to the ALCAN = roads to Alaska, Canada, Lower 48. It does not have a Wal-Mart. It does have people who drove their campers up for holiday! I would have liked to stay more than just the afternoon.

The White Pass rail tour is really beautiful.

We actually went on the Brothel Tour (not as gross as it sounds, promise!) and I really learned a lot of (maybe useless) information. But it was interesting none-the-less and our prostitute ahem tour guide, was fantastic!

just pass through by professormeg

Very beautiful place, but overrun with cruise ships and tourists. I passed through to get to the Alaska Marine Highway ferry—which is indeed worth going (briefly) through Skagway.
