Canary Wharf

London’s version of Wall Street. Probably not quite as glitzy, but still striking because of its skyline. There’s a big shopping centre as well with the Docklands Light Railway station bang in the middle of it.

For such an important ‘global city’, London has hardly any skyscrapers. Canary Wharf in the Docklands Area is the only part of London that is indistinguishable from the downtown of an American city – with its 235m high ONE CANADA SQUARE, the tallest building in the British Isles.

The HSBC and Citigroup centres act as tthe accompaniments, standing on either side of the main tower.

For excellent views of The Wharf and further west toward C.London and The City, go up to the uppermost point of Greenwich Park – the panorama is amazing, especially at night!
