Lots of super cheap places of varying quality. In some cases, you get what you pay for which isn’t much. If you’re going to buy from street vendors, learn to haggle.

It is certainly not always clean or pleasant smelling, but I thin what it has to offer more than compensates for these shortcomings.

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 8 months ago

Well… mainly for girls; the knock off purses are on average around $20. they also have jewelry, scarves, wallets, sunglasses, and a few other things. I have a chanel purse, and I got a chanel necklace and bracelet set for $18.

My mom’s Chinese friend took me on my first trip to Chinatown, which was great, because she knew all the best and most authentic places to go, and how to haggle with all the Asian vendors who were insulting us white people in their native language. She took us to a FANTASTIC place to get dim sum—it’s called the Grand Harmony Palace, and it’s on Mott St. No one will really speak English there, so enjoy all the carts of amazing food whirling by and just do a lot of pointing and a lot of eating!

I went to New York City on my 8th grade end of the year trip, and one of the places we went to was Chinatown. I thought it was a really neat place, but a little scary at the same time. It was really crowded, but totally cool at the same time. There was so much STUFF!!! I loved it!

    Not worth it!

I’ve been to chinatown, but not in NY. In chicago they have a red line cta so we always catch that train on the way to cub games. Not much i can say about the place except there are lots of food places there obviously. Never ate at one but im sure they have good food.

A review of this place: Knock off underground  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

The only place in the world that you can get dragged into a cellar full of purses and watches that are made to look exactly like real high end brand names. Chanel knockoffs, Rolex Knockoffs, Louis Vitton. ECT ECT.

Worth visiting if you want tons of knock offs for cheap prices.

At the end of Canal St. there is this Buddhist Temple… I think the name is Mahayanas… just in the beggining of Manhattan Bridge… really beautiful

Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

This is a great place to see real people, not just tourists and people who make money from them. If you get away from Canal St there are some great restaurants.
