Sandia Peak was the first time I ever stood on a mountain. Beautiful ride up the tram at sunset. I’ll never forget it!

The last time I went to this place
The views from Sandia Peak are breathtaking, and for some … so is the elevation (2 miles above sea level). On a clear day, the view is more than worth the drive up from Albuquerque or the fare on the tramway.
The view on day of my family’s last visit (late August 2007) was a bit hazy due to the heat in Albuquerque, but the views were still impressive.
If you have the chance to go there on a really clear cool day… and especially if you are taking the tram I suggest going around sunset so that you really get the full effect of the views of the city at dusk and beyond.

The first time I went to this place
I went on a day trip with my little brothers class… the kids went crazy on the way up, because you have to take the tram and Im not gonna lie I was scared… and so were they. At least for the frist five min. But after all that I just ejoyed the peace and quite of hikeing. The air is sooo much cleaner, and cold so bring a jacket and a camera, this is a trip you wont want to forget!
