Dinner for 2
We finally got out to Gibbet Hill Grill this passed Friday. Swung by around 7, man were they busy. The smallish bar was packed, seemed like there was a few big parties there, and lots more peopole enjoying dinner. They said 30-1hr, we finally snagged a seat in the kinda noisy bar area. It has full food service and a good view of the fire place. The have a fair selection of wines, though, I didn’t sample any, I did have a properly poured Guiness. We ordered 2 salads, an app, and a burger. Food arrived with a friendly attendant at a reasonable pace. The Cesear salad ($3-4) I had was good with large croutons and shaved parm with a creamy cesear dressing. The burger ($8-10) cooked to order (medium) was cooked to perfection. It’s such a rare day when you can get a burger the way you want it. It was a large, juicy, and served with blue cheese & bacon (you have your choice of cheeses and bacon or mushrooms) and a generous serving of fries. There aren’t many burgers that hold their own, and don’t other condiments, this was one of them. Tasha had a garden salad, that looked quite good. She had the grilled cheeses as her course. It was served with a cup of thick hearty tomato soup for dipping. I only sampled one of the grilled cheeses, there were 2 types, but it was very good. The soup was thick, and tasty, even for someone who doesn’t like tomato soups.
