Horncastle

I have been to Horncastle many times. Primarily known for its antique shops, I go for a different reason. The are now 3 Bookshops in Horncastle selling a wide range of antiquarian and secondhand books. I recommend anyone interested in reading or collecting books to drop by.

I live in Lincolnshire so I am biased I guess! Horncastle is a lovely country town in mid Lincs away from the hussle and bustle of Lincoln and Boston and has more character than Louth or Grimsby. People are friendly and helpful and not afraid to befriend foriegners.

Small market town (although these days the market isn’t that good and since foot and mouth the cattle market has ceased to exist). Shit-loads of so called antique shops. A particularly good second hand bookshop Jabberwock Books.
