Lovely, lovely spot
My dad grew up in Carmel, so Pacific Grove was always to him (jokingly!) the ‘enemy’ when it came to high school football. ;-) But Pacific Grove is a great location, with stunning views of the bay and the ocean both, and though I don’t know it as well as I could or should, I always enjoy going there on visits home.

Fog Town USA
dubbed “The Last hometwon in America”, the city of Pacific Grove is a great destination for the 65 and over/nearly deads crowd. Shrouded in fog and woods, the town is like an odd twilight zone-esque area seperated from the rest of California. Peaceful, sleepy, epxensive. there are few commercial chain businesses here, which is quaint and cute, but bad for the towns local economy, fortunately, property taxes do the trick. I lived there for 17 years, and while I enjoy its tranquility, the crabby old people and tight ass local government make it unberable for anyone who isn’t constrained by an electrical wheelchair.

Our Second Home
We’ve been to Pacific Grove 5 times. The Butterfly Trees must be seen to be appreciated.
Seeing the sunset over the rocky Pacific coast is just magnificent. I can’t describe the colors and the sounds.
(One note – 17 Mile Drive gets boring the 4th time around.)
