Tokyo Disneyland Park

I had a really magical time there. Service is great, very clean and I had a lot of fun :) I wish I had more time though!

I went here with my officemates during our business trip to Yokohama. Tokyo Disneyland is nice, well, like all the Disneyland in the world. I still recall the first time I went to Haunted Mansion in Anaheim, it’s exactly the same as Tokyo. The only difference is you have Japanese maids and a Japanese commentator (which I find really funny) in the mansion.

Tokyo Disney really out-does itself where holidays are concerned.

My wife and I went for Halloween a couple of years ago and were very impressed with Disney not only allowing, but encouraging people to come to the park in costume; it was a great opportunity for dedicated people watchers like us.

Since then, we have heard nothing but similarly good things from others who visited on different holidays.

So, given the chance to go on, or near, a holiday rather than just a regular Saturday, I would recommend the holiday for some great picture taking chances, as well as a great chance to meet people and perhaps make friends.

I want to go here because I’ve always wanted to go to Tokyo and i’ve always wanted to visit disneyland. so i figure why not kill two birds with one stone? Plus, my favorite boyband and only boybadn TVXQ went here. ^- It’d be a pleasure to go there.

... and still the only time I ever did was when I was 14, which was roughly 20 years ago. I was obviously very young, it was my first overseas trip, and the thought that I was finally going to see Disneyland – a place of my childhood fairy tales – really had me sleepless for nights.

Ten minutes after stepping into the park of my dreams, I saw (what I thought was the real) Snow White. I ran to her and spoke to her about how much I adore her. Imagine my complete shock when she spoke back – in Japanese. I turned cold and angry and called her a fake. “You’re not the real Snow White!” I screamed. I was heartbroken for months.

Thinking about it now, I thought it was very, very funny.

Always fun, but can be crowded as hell! School vacation periods and especially winter/new year’s holiday are INSANE. Waits get up to 3-4 hours on Pooh’s Hunny Hunt, the Buzz Lightyear ride, and Haunted Mansion (during the Nightmare Before Christmas season) so take full advantage of the Fastpass system! Alternately, use the After 6 passports during the summer, and it’s not so bad. You also avoid Japan’s stifling summer humidity that way.

TDL is actually not that expensive, relatively speaking. Admission is comparable to the other Disney parks, and food/drinks aren’t excessively expensive compared to the rest of Japan, unlike the US parks.

Also, take a moment to say hi to some of the gaijin “face characters” (princesses, performers, etc) Some of them seem to enjoy being able to speak English to guests for a change.

Haven’t been to American disneylands or any other, but I’ve heard that this one is much cleaner than them all.. and I believe it. Plus, there’s hardly a wait for the rides (and I was there from 9am til 10pm during the middle of Japanese Summer) and the pizza from the Buzz Lightyear restaurant is the best in the world, honestly. Also, have a meal at the Alice in Wonderland restaurant, it’s such an experience, and remember to stay until the lights parade at the end of the day!

You have to be there in the Christmas season!

I’m so accustomed to going to CA’s Disneyland, and so I would very much like to see the differences. I think it’ll be interesting and fun seeing how much of a role culture has played in creating a Japanese version of an American-brand theme park.
