The Mütter Museum

I’ve been to the Mutter Museum 3 times, and I’m still fascinated each time! There’s so much to learn about here. It’s great, if you have a taste for the slightly morbid.

Creepy little museum that just captivates me! I can’t help wanting to go …

Make sure to allow yourself enough time to browse. We got there at 3pm and basically were rushed at closing time.

I went on a first date to this museum. good times. bad date.

I found this place online. Randomly. And decided that the next time that I was on the east coast I would stop in. Which may be soon. I want to visit my dad in NY.

Crowded, small and neat. Was able to see everything in under 45 minutes.

Not for the squeamish. People we were with had to leave.

Go early! We were there for 2 hours and didn’t get to see everything.

Got a chance to see the Mutter Museum this past weekend. As I’m into Ben Franklin, it was kinda neat that they were having a special exhibit on Franklin’s medical and health pursuits. There are exhibits of various freakish disorders, such as a horn growing out of somebody’s head, conjoined (Siamese) twins, etc. There is a large collection of skulls from around the world, and even two authentic shrunken heads. All in all probably the strangest museum I’ve ever seen, and pretty fitting to see near Halloween. It took about 2 hours to go through.

I would live here if I could. My only complaint is that I wish it were larger.
