Dixon

when I was little I use to like going to Dixon because I got to see the life size dinosaur statue. “Dixie the Dixon dinosaur” and her egg, which they would put sunglasses or a santa hat on depending on the time of the year. But then they sold Dixie and her egg to Benecia (i think I spelled that wrong). So now she’s Benny the Benecian Brontosaurus. And now I have no reason to go to Dixon. Although they do have the nearest WalMart Supercenter. cough

It’s really not even a pleasant pit stop. Really gives you that “middle of nowhere” vibe. I’ve been to a good Mexican restaurant here though.

I have lived in this town for 15 years, and in my opinion, this town sux. The law enforcement community seems disproportionately large for a city of this size, and they seem to be ineffective in preventing any real crime, while at the same time they seem very effective at harassment and intimidation of minorities and young people. This place is primarily a bedroom community for commuters, and as such there are very few places for people to go and have fun. We have no movie theatre, no skating rink, no music store, no arcade… No wonder there seems to be a disproportionate amount of drug use here (especially methamphetamine, according to published news reports). There is a shortage of rental property, and many of the homes were supposedly built in the 1970’s during a lumber shortage and are said to be of poor quality. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
