It’s nice to know that in this post 9/11 world in which we live in, you can still walk right up to the Washington Monument, the phallic symbol of our republic, and just give it a little rub. For good luck.

If you don’t want to get up early on the day of your visit to wait in line for the free tickets, you can order at nps.gov for a small fee. You must reserve pretty far in advance for peak summer and weekend days though.

when we went here they said it was too windy to go up to the top, bad day for junior high kid :( I might still be scarred. haha

One of the coolest things in washington dc!

There are windows at the vary top where you can see every thing in dc even arlington!

Your guide on the elevator back down shows you diffrent things by the glass of the elevator fogs dark and go’s clear make sure you stand by the door in the elevator down!
