Untitled by Jeff DeanIf 15-pitch-long bolted sport climbs on clean, sunny limestone are your thing El Portrero Chico will be like heaven. I came back from a week there climbing at least a grade harder, and my footwork had improved dramatically. Bring plenty of sunblock and make sure to say hi to Milton and Homero for me – you’ll know who they are when you get there. Just be careful because the grading is kind of nutty – Magic Ed’s routes are typically a grade or two below what he says they are – which makes everyone else’s routes seem harder – even though they are in reality more accurate. And don’t miss Pancho Villa Rides Again on the Mota wall – sheer beauty! over 7 years ago |
