I love Nome

So you want to go to Nome, Alaska? Be prepared for a culture shock…economically and physically. Dress warm, bring rain gear and always bring a good winter hat. The views are well worth the thousands of miles you have to get here. Nome is great. Where else in America can you walk down the street at 3am and still feel safe? Come and see for yourself!

I have family in Nome, Alaska. It’s a small town but a great place to get away and experience the wild! I did! A big Brown bear!

A good friend of mine lives here. I would like to visit plus see the Iditarod and eat at Subway. :o)

I’ve been to Nome a number of times—and will be back in a few weeks! Last time I was there I took a bunch of pictures. If nothing else, check out one of the few remaining White Alice Radar stations at the top of Anvil Mountain—right out of the X-Files…

I’d never been to Alaska before and was able to visit Nome for the Summer Solstice in 2005. Interesting little town, with a real remote, small town, frontier camp feel.
