I didn’t actually get to eat there. We were there before they opened for dinner so we sat by the water for a while. We went back the moment they opened, but apparently they were full due to reservations. It certainly looked appetizing.
I at least enjoyed sitting by the water.

ok the Greens and the Moosewood are the only really famous ones I know of, undoubtably because of their cookbooks. I have been to many other veggie restaurants, but few that I had heard of before dining there.

In terms of vegetarian restaurants, the Greens was certainly the fanciest in terms of food, presentation, service, ambiance, blah blah blah. I have been here twice… once for lunch and once for their prix fixe dinner. The lunch was awesome (disclaimer: that was years ago, work paid for it, and free food is almost always good). I was there earlier this year for dinner and remember it being good, too, although I can’t remember the specifics dishes I got. They were sneaky and used a very dinky dish of a few olives and bits of cheese as one of the courses, which surprised me as it looked way too minor (not even tapas sized) to be considered a dish. The server gave us a few more dishes of them though for free :) :) :).

They also have a “to go” menu, but I have never partaken of it.

All and all, I certainly don’t regret going. I think it pricey considering all the good cheap food in SF, but worth going to. For those of you who have been to the Moosewood, I definitely consider the Greens better.
