I went on a cruise with my family, would love to go back!

I went there on my honeymoon and was so underwhelmed for the money. While everyone on the Couples Resort compound was nice, the taxi driver and all the locals we did run into tried to scam us out of money or sell us drugs (literally!!). The poverty was overwhelming, and made me sad to think of the dollars that we were putting into the island that would never make it back to the shanty towns that were a constant from the airport to the resort.

It was a fabulous trip and lots of fun!

They had food so good it’ll make your fins flip!

We went to Ocho Rios (Couples Resort) for our honeymoon and it was the best / most relaxing time I’ve had on vacation ever. That all inclusive goes a long way and with the conversion rate the way it is (when we were there in 2006 it was 34 to 1 dollar) you can live like a king tipping $2.00 here and there. DEFINITELY negotiate when you go into town to do some shopping.

Wonderful place to visit. I went 18 years ago and will go back some day. I loved the falls the best.

the people are used to american tourists and they buy the crap out of you trying to get you to buy their hand made crafts. Some of which is cool, but if you just want to explore, this is not the city to do it in. I recommend another not so touristy part of jamaica to visit.
