This was my first time ever seeing any mountains. They were beautiful. I will definitely go again.

This is a great park. If you enjoy hiking they have a trail for everyone. The waterfall trails are the best and Laural Falls is an easy walk with a great reward at the end. If you don’t hike there are several auto tours, my favorite is the roaring fork auto tour.

When you go to The Smoky Mountains, make sure you bring a camera, something to drink, and a little snack for later..

I hiked through the backcountry in 2000, from Clingman’s Dome to Cades Cove. It was a scenic 5 day 45 mile hike. Waterfalls, Chimneytops, Deer, Wild turkeys, and remnants of the old houses that once stood up in the mountains. Early May was a bit cold, but it was spectacular. Our itinerary and hiking plans were arranged by The great folks at www.awalkinthewoods.com

We’ll be visiting Nashville soon and we are excited to be able to take in the Smoky Mountains and possibly even the Blue Ridge Parkway in NC.

Yeah this plase was beautiful and there was really hillbillys there with accents and everything sitting on their front porch playing their banjo, it was sweet. I liked driving through the park and seeing the river and trails waterfalls and caves god I wish I lives there. But the first time we went when I was little my dad got a kidney stone and we had to take him to the hospital. it was interesting

1. the norther part of the park, near gatlinbug/pigeon forge is superior to the cades cove area in my opinion.
2. There is a black bear living in a giant tulip poplar tree along the Laurel Falls trail, about .5 miles beyond the falls. The tree is evident in that 1 side is missing most of the bark, all the way up, the top of the main trunk is hollow

This place is absolutely beautifull! When I was a child my family would make frequent trips to the Smoky Mountains and I have a wealth of positive memories about lazy days spent meandering up and down mountain trails, visiting waterfalls, and discovering different points of interest on each trip. It’s a very peacefull retreat for anyone who wants to get away from the maddening crush of society for a little while.
