    Not worth it!

Not really worth it. If you have a young child, perhaps 8 years or younger, it might be worth visiting, but it’s expensive for what you get. My 10 year old was only mildly interested, since he is still into Bionicles, but my 12 year old was bored silly, and frankly, so was I. The rides are unoriginal, slow, and dull. Not much entertainment, either. The cities made out of Legos were somewhat interesting, if you’re in the right mood.

One tip, though – older kids (maybe 9-15) will love the Lego Mindstorm classes, where they teach you how to program the Mindstorm robots to do specific tasks. Sign up for a class right away when you get there, in case the classes fill up.

    Worth visiting!

I’ve fallen behind in 43places: we went to Legoland in February of this year (2007) and I forgot to mark it as “visited.”

We had a great time: parents and children. As a parent the food services impressed me the most. The food quality was significantly higher & healthier than Disneyland and there were many more tables for eating at. There were many more rides appropriate for my easily-spooked 6-year old twins, and I was pleasantly surprised by how attracted they were to Miniland. We spent a lot of time in Miniland as colossal tourists! ;-)

Pirate Shores has two new rides (ok, Captain Cranky’s is new, Treasure Falls has been there for a while, but is now finally working!). They’re both great fun for the kids and worth checking out!

Pirate Shores is a WET ZONE - lots of fun (and hard to resist) water-based activities and rides – make sure to bring along a bathing suit and towel so that the kids can really enjoy.

Really, Legoland was amazing, even though my brother and I are well into our teens. We went to the one in Denmark one summer when we were visiting our grandparents in Sweden, and, really, it’s truly incredible. I love how the girl Lego people actually have breasts… and the guys have five o’clock shadow!

    Not worth it!

When I took my daughter there, she was already about 12. Even she referred to the place as “Lame-O Land”. Nuff said!

    Worth visiting!

Miniland Las Vegas is about a week away from completion and is scheduled to open to the public on March 29, 2007. I thought I’d share some sneak peek photos.

    Not worth it!

Sorry, but this place isn’t worth their charge. We had free tickets and still didn’t like the park!

Legoland is made to bring your young children, but not in a good way. Adults can’t ride two at a time; you either ride with a child, or by yourself. I’m a small person, and even I knew the rides were a tad too small to be comfortable. We only had two kids in our group of 11, so several of us didn’t ride, or I rode by myself most of the time.

Most of the workers aren’t very friendly. It seems that even they know the park isn’t a great place.

The park design is very plain in general, it’s nothing like the other options here in So. Cal.

Any good points I have to mention are the two rides they offer for 3 and up: they can drive a little car or boat by themselves! That’s pretty fun for the little ones. There is a coaster (that more than one adult can actually go on) that’s exciting, but somewhat freakish – the turns are very sharp and you are in a little car, so flipping over or falling out is an obvious possibility. Another good thing was Miniland – famous cities/sites all made out of real size Legos. I could’ve just spent all day viewing those details! (The rest of the park is out of larger Legos, which just looks…I don’t know, cheap and not as impressive. We went during the holiday events (for my birthday), and seeing a large Christmas tree or Santas made out of large Legos isn’t that great.)

Other than that – never again. I won’t pay, and really, I don’t think I’ll go with a free ticket. For an 1.5-hour drive, it’s just a waste of time. Disneyland, Magic Mtn, and even Universal are closer and a way better choice.

    Worth visiting!

Christmas at Legoland includes a life-sized Lego Santa, the largest Lego tree in the world and a nightly fireworks display.

But those are the obvious holiday decorations. Keep your eyes peeled as you make your way through the Park and you’ll see many more gems, including a congregation of Santas at the “Santa Convention,” a Santa sunning on a rock wearing shades and shorts, Santa and his reindeer flying high above downtown Manhattan.

    Enjoy, and Happy Holidays!

This is the only theme park I’ll rave about besides Disneyland. I absolutely loved Legoland. I have a thing with cleanliness, and the park is very clean and well-groomed. It’s a place geared for the children so if you’re going alone as adults, you’ll be disappointed. Little kids love the place like they love candy, though, so if you’ve got a family with young children, definitely go. If you’re a “young adult” and want some good, clean, innocent fun, I’d absolutely recommend going. Carlsbad is a beautiful area, offering some lovely things to do outside the park, as well. ♥
