Urbis

First of all, this is the prettiest building you could possibly come across in all of Manchester. Urbis is a giant glass ship heading into Manchester, and the kind of thing you will only find in a city. And aptly, it deals almost entirely with cities.

Secondly, it has a diagonal rollercoaster-style lift and gives you fantastic views of the city centre!

Third point: The exhibitions are free!

Fourth point: They’re not so bad either, designed to make you think about cities and life there.

If you do go, make sure you catch one of the free tours. The tour guides provide interesting and special information, and you get to go up and down the lift some more!

The building is very cool from the outside and hearing people’s stories was excellent but some of the exhibits were not clear and some were closed.

There are some great views of the city from the Urbis museum of modern life, as well as interesting exhibits within the museum itself.
