Leuven

So it is set to happen. I got in touch with my old friend from Leuven and we are going to spend a weekend in March together, when Im going to Antwerpen on business. Looking forward to it.

Im going to Antwerp in March for business and would like to catch up with an old (boy)friend of mine who used to live in Leuven. I haven´t seen him in 10 yrs so it would be nice to meet him again. But first I have to track him down….

Best little University town I have seen so far (and I have seen quite a few). Place is loaded with cafes and restaurants and full of good atmosphere. Excellant Belgian beers just help make your visit more fun. Really enjoyable.

Leuven is known for four things: gas works, Stella Artois brewery, being the capital of Brabant, and, of course, KUL - as in “cool!” or Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. If your school offers an exchange program with them – GO!

A very compact university town with the absolute best ‘brabant gothic’ Stadhuis and a very well-preserved Begijnhof. (And a very high ratio of pretty girls compared to other Belgian cities)

Yes, yes! I’ve been here. This is where an entire half of my family tree lives. How exciting.
