Lake Oswego

Lake Oswego, though a nice place, has a bit of a problem with people. In the two years that I lived there my confidence was almost completely destroyed. Most people there are very rich, very snobby, and very MEAN. I think it’s safe to say I don’t want to go back. In fact, it was a blessing when my family moved….

For six weeks, at least.

Pretty much by definition, suburbs are not the place to look for edgy urban diversions. So I think it’s unfair to complain that Lake Oswego lacks the grit and excitement of the city – of course it does, just as the city lacks trees, ranch houses, and cul-de-sacs. It’s an apples and oranges thing.

For what it is (an affluent bedroom community), Lake Oswego is a pleasant enough spot, suitable for families and retirees. All you angsty twentysomethings really ought to be spending your time downtown, not out here in the tree-filled suburbs.

Usually people that live in Lake Oswego are rich and snotty, but if you give them a chance, they’re ok.
