Worth visiting!
Why I recommend this place to visitors
Yes, it’s a touristy thing to do. But what a great way to get orientated in Berlin! The views (on a clear day) are spectacular, and the accompany information boards explaining the buildings and other points of interest are comprehensive and in many languages.
I did feel so sorry for the guy who sits inside the lift on a stool and operates its buttons all day long. His morale probably isn’t lifted by one of the most unattractive uniforms that I’ve seen.
One thing that really struck me was the size of the Tiergarten. It is a huge park slap bang between the old West and East Berlin city sectors. The tree foliage is so dense that it looks like an enchanted wood in the middle of the city.
