This is a great place to learn to ski. The green trails are wide and flat and even if you don’t have a lot of control yet, there’s plenty of room to try yourself out without bumping into others. When I was there, there were fairly long lines for the lifts at the bottom, so we concentrated on the middle part of the mountain where the traffic was lighter. I liked the blue trails here too. I am not really an experienced skier yet but found that the easier blue trails were just my speed.

Short lines….really get your money’s worth here! Great slopes and nice powder….and best of all no snowboarders! This is great place for anyone who wants the most bang for their buck….skied two days here!

Fantastic skiing by John Clyman

Alta is simply a fantastic place to ski; for me, it’s become an annual pilgimmage. There’s a great variety of terrain and frequent deep powder to play in. Minimal lift lines on weekdays even during peak periods. Alta itself is a skier-only resort — snowboards aren’t permitted — although it’s contiguous with Snowbird, which I believe does allow snowboarding.
