We were going to camp here, but seeing as we hate campgrounds we decided to move on. There are two seperate campgrounds in the park but they can’t seem to provide more than a handful of sites to people who don’t require electricity (I require a semi-flat pad of dirt). The dunes were deserted when we got there just before dusk, everyone was busy enjoying their RV’s. I wish we could have spent more time there, I am really into sand dunes and deserts.

through the Idaho countryside, i see a sign that says Sand Dunes. my curiosity piqued, i exit the highway and follow the signs. the last thing i expected in Idaho were massive piles of sand. there’s no ocean nearby, why should there be a beach? i was overwhelmed when i arrived to see such an oddity. the magnitude of what the wind could do was shown to me that day. i had a newfound respect for nature.

The last time I went here I was like 10 and have the picture to prove it. I’m going to check this place out again as it’s only about an hour and a half from home.
