Why I recommend this place to visitors
I highly recommend the Grunberg Haus B&B, if you like to be left alone while on vacation. It’s a lovely, slightly rustic place with several cabins and a main house. Fabulous gourmet breakfasts served with live piano, and the forest setting is really beautiful. And it’s cheap!
The town of Waterbury itself is tiny, but there’s Green Mountain Coffee and the Ben & Jerry factory to visit, as well as a couple of good restaurants.

Why I recommend this place to visitors
I’ve been to Waterbury many times. The first trip was to visit Ben & Jerry’s, but we learned about several other places in town that are equally worth visiting. Now when we go, we stop at B&J’s, but we also go to Green Mtn. Coffee, Grandview Winery, Cold Hollow Cider Mill, and the Cabot Annex, where you can sample tons of their cheeses! The Cabot Annex shares its building with Lake Champlain Chocolates, which is right through the open doorway. Fun day trip!

The first time I went to this place
We stopped here to go to the Ben and Jerry’s factory. We went downtown later to see if there were any interesting pubs. The first one, which I believe was called “the Waterbury Pub” was a little roughneck. Patrons were drunk and loud early in the afternoon. The place didn’t take credit or debit cards. The place across the street was much classier, with a friendly bartender.

Ben & Jerry's hometown
The factory has a cute little flavor graveyard.
Quaint little farming town, my favorite kind of place!
