Mansfield

When I was little, I loved the Little House on the Praire books. My parents actually took me on a road trip to visit several of the places associated with her (much to the dismay, chagrin, and boredom of my older brother). We went to Plum Creek, DeSmet, and Mansfield, where Laura and Almanzo settled after leaving DeSmet. The tour of her house was interesting, and there’s a museum with many of her possessions (including manuscripts for the books). It’s worth a visit if you liked her books!
