so good sooooo greasy!

i’ve been going to the varsity since i was practically born so i might be a little biased.
the varsity is THE fast food joint of ga. if you plan on visiting atlanta, you should just go because if you don’t you haven’t really visited in most georgians eyes.
the food is extremely greasy, and if you are looking for cheap it definitely isn’t.
i always get the chili dog combo, it is THE chili dog in my eyes. when i was a kid i got the cheese dog, but chili is best.
just try it.
if you’re going for non-greasy though, don’t get the fries or onion rings.

The food wasn’t awful…but not amazing, either. I just don’t get what is so absolutely amazing about this place. Why not just go across the interstate to the Burger King? I didn’t think the food was too greasy, though. I’m sure that it is probably much more to people with memories and Atlanta locals themselves, but if you don’t have any associations with the place, it shouldn’t be a priority to make some on your trip to Atlanta.

To everyone below that complains that The Varsity is greasy: What the heck did you THINK it was going to be like?
I tell everyone I know if they’re making a trip to ATL that The Varsity chili cheese fries and peach and apples pies are DELICIOUS! Yum yum GREASE!

It’s about the worst possible food (health-wise) you can eat. And a lot of people I’ve known just don’t care for it. But those same people will eat at the National Fast food chains…

But I love it. Give me 2 Chili-Cheese dogs, Onion Rings and a Frosted Orange any day!

Oh and the fact that it’s historic doesn’t hurt either.

of course the food is greasy, but it is such a fun resturant. especially now, with the new big tvs which play a slideshow about the varsity constantly, and of course the tvs which play the sports games. you have to eat here if you go to Atlanta (every time you go actually) :]

...is the last time I went to this place.

I thought it was a neat experience, but I thought the food was awful…and if you eat it on a regular basis you will probably need bypass surgery.

It is good food. But you have to be able to take in a lot of grease. Everytime I go, I get sick. But it is totally worth it!

The place was mobbed, but we were waited on and got our food quickly. Definitely not health food, but very tasty. I highly recommend the frosted orange—tastes like an orange Creamsicle—and the onion rings.

Incredible hot dogs. Absolutely incredible ‘Orange Dream’ drinks. The place always looks crowded, but they do a great job of getting people their food fast. I’ve loved the varsity since I was a little boy living in Atlanta.
