Schenectady

If you’re into arts; performing, visual, etc. —there are a number of galleries, theaters and small pub and cafe venues that feature local talents, current/past Off-Broadway shows, and a variety of cuisines that are easy on the wallet. I do think certain parts are worth taking a look at, a small city downtown on the upswing.

Schenectady is a popular stop for transients and train hoppers. There’s a group of residents that really try to make it a better place to live but their efforts are not encouraged by the city government.

I live in Schenectady, NY and there isn’t much to do here. We have Rotterdam Square Mall but it is not impressive compare to other malls that I have been to in the past.

Maybe I’m biased, but I doubt there’s much worth seeing in this small town. I’ve been there numerous times and didn’t really find much to do besides bowling, seeing a movie or doing some shopping. You’re better off making the trip to Albany, which isn’t very far away.
