Not worth it!

Is your heart is set on drinking and hanging out with Yoopers all day, then this is the town for you. There is not enough jobs, or entertainment in this city.

I lived here for 20 years. The only fun times I had were partying at LSSU while I was in high school and being able to drink in Canada at 19. It’s cool if you come up here for college, but you have to love snow! It’s also a nice place for retirement, but I would definately not recomment visiting it unless you are going to go gambling and stay for no longer than one day. And make sure it’s in the summer time!

Worth visiting!

I came here in ‘98 as a freshmen in highschool, and it was right before winter time, and I was absolutly amazed at how much snow is here!! I am still not used to all the snow that the soo gets its crazy!! (It seems like 3-5 feet sometimes, and prob. the total for the year is nuts)

A fun college town  — 2 years ago

Worth visiting!

I lived here for almost a year and it was prolly one of the best years of my life. That being said, it really doesn’t have much to offer. It’s cold and doesn’t even get that warm in the summer. The locks are neat, but cmon, how long can you spend looking or even riding through the locks? One plus to this town is it’s right on the border of Canada and the drinking age there is 19. And if you live in the Soo that’s what you spend your whole winter doing.

Worth visiting!

This is a college town, plain and simple. Nothing but bars. And if you didn’t know, the college is Lake Superior State University. I’m a 2004 grad.

Maybe this is dumb...  — 2 years ago

...but I want to see the end of Interstate 75. I always liked the cool name “Sault Ste Marie” on maps.
