Melbourne

Yet another place I lived one year growing up.

I lived here for 2 years (Sep 2004-2006). Cost of living is cheaper than other areas of Florida, but not the country. There have been new housing developments and housing prices have skyrocketed. I myself own a condo in Melbourne (Viera). I would go back, because the town itself is situated in a very opportune location. Everything you need is within driving distance, and Orlando is less than an hour away which satisfy all your wants.

There are definitely a few nice things about this town, and it certainly beats the surrounding locales (Palm Bay, anyone?), but I don’t know if it’s done enough to merit itself as a destination for those outside of the area. If you’re in town, drop by the cafes, like the Sun Cafe, and hit up the beach and the pizzeria by it. Then get back on the road to where you were really headed.

I lived here when I was in grade school and a year in junior high.

Stayed two weeks here. My uncle lives here. Its a really cool place to go and the ocean is nice there.

such a gorgeous city. Anywhere that has a small patch of park every city block (no joke,) just so the business people have somewhere to eat lunch, is alright by me! Loved the deep fried pineapple rings at the Red Rooster chain (like KFC,) and ofcourse the penguin parade out a philip island.

That’s one reason I liked it. :)

I regret not seeing the manatees while I was there, though.
