Why I recommend this place to visitors

I worked at the Tim Horton Childrens ranch this summer in Kananaskis so I got a very extended visit with the area. I love it I love it I love it. It’s honestly one of the most gorgeous places around. If you’re in the neighbourhood I would suggest going hiking up Baldy Mountain and spending some time around the upper Kananaskis Lakes. The Kananaskis river is amazing for River rafting so if you get a chance to do it HIT the water! If you like the outdoors and natural beauty this is definatly a place to go.

Wow

I went to Kananaskis a few years ago, I went with Dad’s parents to this leadership conference thing. That was alright, but the setting.. The sun went down around five pm because of the mountains, but it stayed light until like eleven. I biked four miles and hiked four more miles and went up like a thousand feet (I dunno for sure though), and then I hiked the four and rode the other four back. I just wish I had brought a good camera, though cameras rarely catch half of what’s to be seen in person, even if you take a picture of everything. Also, I saw four mosquitoes, and it was the middle of summer! Only four in three days, I could live with that.

Skied Nakiska

I got in on a ski trip to Banff and we skiied one day at Nakiska and stayed there the last night of the trip. I’m not sure where we stayed but I guess it must have been in Kananaskis? We stayed pretty close to the ski hill.

Guest Ranches!

While in Kananaskis we stayed at a Guest Ranch and I put my good old country line dancing to use. Kananaskis is great. Ride a horse on a trail and get back in tune with your natural self. Then line dance. Till your boogie boot scoots itself right back into bed. Then ride a horse again.
