I was there for a band/orchestra event with my kids. It has changed in a lot of ways (especially the front foyer area by the stairs!) but I saw a lot of places that I remembered and that were pretty much the same!

I went to High School here. I lived across the street and down the bike path by the lagoon. I remember jogging, cross country skiing and walking with good friends along this path.
West High has a phenomenal auditorium. I spent many an hour there after school. I am still in the theatre world and realizing how fortunate we were to have all that it had. Dressing rooms, a “Green Room”, a balcony, lowering pit,... We took it so for granted. When I left, I thought all schools and theatres would be like West High’s, boy was I mistaken.

Good entries Dan & trelnar but I’m surprised you didn’t mention anything about the photo/yearbook room. I think we all got our first exposure to Macintosh computers there thanks to Davlin getting them for yearbook.
Also, who can forget that Davlin’s were the most easily forged hall passes in the school?
Hope to see both of you Aug. 4

I grew up across the street from West High School and attended high school there along with my brothers and sisters. Good friends, good times. There are three parts of the building that stick out in my memory:
1) the blocks—in front of the library were a stack of carpeted blocks where people would sit and chat
2) the benches—as I recall these were by the door to the hockey rink and were populated by guys, but there was a pecking order for who could sit there and who couldn’t
3) the auditorium—a great theater where talent shows, plays and concerts occured. Growing up I remember acts like Ozzie Ozbourne and Deep Purple coming through town and playing at the high school
