Alagar Koil

Located at about 25 KMs from Madurai, this hill makes a nice one day trekking expedition. The hill is populated with langurs, bisons. The trekking into the dense vegetation with huge trees makes a refreshing experience.

There is a perennial spring 2 KMs up the hill where water flows continuously. The water flows out from an ancient temple, the source of water said to be unknown. The water is fresh with herbal and medicinal characters and rejuvenates tired body & mind!

There is a huge temple at the base of the hill with a sprawling fort wall.

It takes about 3 hours to reach the top of the hill.
