The Nile River

Take the 1/2 hour Nile cruise using small boat and pay only LE2.00..Minus belly dancing and dinner.

Aboard a cruiseboat, the contrasting colors were amazing. Lush greens right at the riverbeds and then the brown earth from the land above it.

I’ve known rivers:

Went by felucca from Aswan to Luxor. Memorable trip, but you’d only want to do it once. Eating, sleeping, washing and sh *ing on a raft with no facilities save the captain’s stove is something you’d only want to do once, but it is the only way to see Egypt from a water level viewpoint. Silently drifting through a million star filled African night though is a memory to treasure and worth the discomfort.

i went on a few day cruise down the nile. it was really informative. sorta strange how they think it’s too cold to fill the pool on the boat when it’s like 100* out!!

We rented a faluca boat for an hour or so, manned by a little Bedouin. At one point, we crashed into a ferry, which was stressful and exciting! It’s so strange that you have a view of the pyramids on one side and a busy street with a TGIF or something on the other.

ride a felucca (but don’t touch the water!), or cruise the Elephantine islands (sp?). It’s all beautiful.
