San Diego Zoo

I’ve been to the San Diego Wild Animal Park, and it was awesome! So I want to see the San Diego Zoo and see how it compares.

This was, by far, the BEST zoo I’ve ever been to!

Don’t try to see the whole zoo.
we did, but it is repetitive. I think they planned it so that all animals can be seen without touring the whole place.

The sky view thing was really nice.

Oh, and in the evenings there are peacocks that just roam about.

i wore heels. it was the first time i had worn them. this was a terrible idea.

The Wild Animal Park is better, in my opinion—more space for the animals. The zoo is cool, though.

Go early, around 10am. Visit the tigers before 3pm as when the sun starts to go down, it doesn’t reach where the tigers are.

When I went to the zoo in SD a gorilla charged at my mom through the glass!! I think it was because she had her camera flash on. =/ Either way, it was terrifying.

I thought this was a good zoo, but I think it was overrated. Getting around is difficult because of the hills and the proximity of the vehicle paths to the narrow pedestrian paths. And some of the animal habitats looked way too small and sparse, as compared to habitats for the same species at other zoos. Having said that, there was a large variety of animals, and of course, I especially enjoyed seeing the pandas.

the animals were so cute! i remember an ostrich was walking by our car and my sister was like, “hurry up and put the window up!” we were this close before the ostrich was able to put its head through. instead it just pecked on the glass! we were also scared while approaching the lions because we were scared that they were going to chase us.
