Worth visiting!
We were visiting my great-aunt who lives in Scott’s Bluff Nebraska, about an hour or so from here. I remember stopping and going off to take pictures while the rest of my family yelled at me to get back in the car.
Worth the visit, definitely worth the visit.

Actually, I saw it on a tv program, can’t remember the program name but back in high school—late ‘80s or early ‘90s we went on a ‘family’ vacation. Can’t remember where exactly we were heading but we just happened to be on this highway passing by & I looked over & yelled, “STOP THE CAR!” the parents said, of course, “what fer?, What’s yer problem!?” I said “LOOOOK” & pointed over at Car Henge. I said it was that Stone Henge made of cars so they pulled over & we took pix although I had a pretty crappy camera so my pix weren’t that great as you can barely make it out in the photo although the photo itself isn’t blurry, I just had a crappy camera that didn’t take long distance photos from the road. I can’t believe I actually saw this & it was a fluke that we happened to pass by, we had NO idea where it was located, it was just a fluke but I will never forget it!

The Disney/Pixar movie Cars really brought this place to the front of our minds.

I grew up about 100 miles from here. I love the Sandhills of Nebraska – just take a drive east from Alliance (near Carhenge) and after 80 miles or so, I think you will fall in love as well. The concept of Carhenge is offbeat, but it is a really cool spot to visit. Try checking it out around sunset- absolutely beautiful.

Worth visiting!
An excellent place for riding motorcycles: empty roads, elevations, sweeping turns… and carhange.
I had to buy a quart of oil in Alliance, and when I mentioned that I’d just come from carhange, the clrek scowled and said,
“Why would anyone want to go THERE?” “Because it is not like other places,” I said on my way out the door.

It’s an hour north of I-80, just outside the tiny town of Alliance. It’s the only thing worth visiting in Nebraska. But it’s Carhenge. You either want to go, or you don’t, and if you do, you won’t be disappointed.
