Kearney

I went to school at UNK. Good college, nice quiet town. Not a whole lot to do though. The Platte River can be fun, same with the sand pits for swimming. Probably one of the nicest small cities in Nebraska.

My family has quite a few ties to Kearney…

And they’re all right.

I lived in Kearney NE for six months and have visited it at least once a month for the past seven years. There is nothing terribly exceptional or special about it. MONA (Museum of Nebraska Art) is intresting, but will take you all of maybe two hours (going REALLY slow) to see, then there is the Great Platte River Archway (as seen in About Schmidt) which is okay, but you know…. If you can get there when the Sandhill Cranes are migrating that alone is amazing and totally worth it. Mostly though this is your typical, very white, middle class suburban city.

UNK the university is a pretty amazing buy though, a good eduucation at a pretty reasonable price.
