This place is a great place to walk around and shop. Not to mention that the Bloomingdales shopping center isnt too far from here. During Christmas they put up a huge tree and the place is just breath taking. This place has so much History to it as well, I highly recommend visiting it at least once.

Its lovely, especially during the holiday season with all the lights, decorations, and the outside ice rink in the middle.

I was surprised how busy the streets were on weeknights. The shops were still busy close to closing time – 9pm. Were these tourists or locals? Do locals dine out in the city on weeknights?

Lots of well known American stores and brand name stores in spacious, well lit buildings. Wide sidewalks, plenty of space to walk comfortably. Looks clean and new. Many unique restaurants – some decades old.

The square itself adds a nice clear space to look at the surrounding buildings which are different heights and colours.

The actual plaza is nice but this place is filled with idiots who are shopping nearby

SF is one of my favorite cities! by nes311~2008-Obama-YES WE DID!

Lots to see and do for the first time visitor. Cable car to Pier 39 is a must. Shoppping at Union Square-the zoo, the exploratorium, the ferry building and much, much more. The Golden Gate Bridge is gorgeous and you can walk across it, too.

I’ve stayed in many hotels-all near Union Square. The vibe in SF is friendly.
