Why I want to go to this place — 1 year ago
For one thing, it’s a beautiful, eccentric little village. For another thing, it’s The Village. I’m a new Prisoner fan. B see’n you.

What an interesting place… It’s like Disneyworld in some senses; everything is obviously staged and not quite authentic, but it’s very fascinating to walk around Portmeirion a little. A good spot for lunch. And the gardens/woods are beautiful to walk through. And that dried up lake thing is weird.

worth visiting and staying in either hotel/cottages in the village. Episodes of the Prisoner shown every evening on a special channel! Surreal at night, cottages are self-catering.

As I’m sure most people know (at least those in UK) this is the village in north Wales where the 1960’s TV show “The Prisoner” was shot. Those of you who don’t know should Google “The Prisoner” to find out about this very idiosyncratic show. Here’s a start http://www.portmeirion-village.com/en/features.php?id=24&MID=38
