Ellis Island

I didn’t have enough time to see everything in the Museum but I did see enough to be able to happily say that I have been to Ellis Island. Some day I will come back and see the rest of the museum, and climb to the top of lady liberty!

I came here because my wife wanted to visit and I really enjoyed my visit. They have done an impressive job with the museum

My ancestors came here, most likely, your ancestors came here. Ellis Island is where fates were decided, where hopes and dreams began for some, where hope was lost for others.

Some of my family got into the country, some where over quota, became Canadians for a spell. I’m the 2nd generation of US soil borne Americans in my family.

This place made that happen.

I visited the statue of liberty monument and Ellis island just recently. It was pretty cool. Some of the pictures of the first immigrants and the assesments they had to pass in order to stay .. brought tears to my eyes.

Oh and I purchased the coolest postcard in the gift store of the main building there! (i collect postcards)

I went here and I played in front of the Statue of Liberty with NPS Big Apple Orchestra 2007! I plan on doing it again next year! :]
