Ellis Island

I visited the statue of liberty monument and Ellis island just recently. It was pretty cool. Some of the pictures of the first immigrants and the assesments they had to pass in order to stay .. brought tears to my eyes.
Oh and I purchased the coolest postcard in the gift store of the main building there! (i collect postcards)

I went here and I played in front of the Statue of Liberty with NPS Big Apple Orchestra 2007! I plan on doing it again next year! :]

My great-grandfather saw this nearly 100 years before I did. I wonder what he thought of it.

When I got into the ferry to Liberty Island I thought that it was going to be boring to be staring at a statue for 30 minutes, so I didnt get off the ferry and went to Staten Island… it was realy interesting to know the history of those who went to USA for better life

Take the circle line cruise.

It’s an amazing place, with all of the beautiful architecture and history. Some aspects of it can be almost creepy though, like the unfinished section of the island and the personal belongings of those who passed through. Overall , it is definitely worth the trip

A very historical place. It made me a bit emotional b/c I knew my ancestors had been in the very same room I was standing in, only generations earlier. It is a very neat place to visit.

I went today, see my immigration museum entry

Hmm.. this isn’t any of the above choices for what kind of entry this is.
I went to the statue again this month and because of increased “security” it took an extra hour to get on the ferry to the statue, we stood in line for security ON the island to get into the Statue for 2 hours after we got there. My son was sea sick and had to leave his bottle of water in a locker, along with my infant’s baby food. We didn’t have access to these things while we spent most of the afternoon in a security line in an unairconditioned room . By the time we finally got into the statue and back out, none of us had the patience to even get off of the boat at Ellis.
