How this place changed my life  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

This is where I live with my hubby, I love were we live at the Brumby Lofts, This is where my first home with my new family (my husband, myself, and our feline children live.) The best sushi place is here at Thaicoon, the Marietta Square is a quaint, cozy place to visit, there is a great coffee shop there, an awsome pastry shop, Marietta Pizza, its just an awome, historic place that I love and hope to live here for a long, long time

A tip I have about this place  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

Marrietta is more than “The Big Chicken.”
It has a charming central square with lots of Antique Shops, but the Police are everywhere, so drive the speed limit, park legally and enjoy the small-town folks.

In Marietta you will also find the Marietta National Cemetery and a sadly neglected cemetery of mostly blank grave markers for Confederate soldiers who are almost all unknowns.

I moved from a small town in Georgia. The people in Marietta are very friendly and usually willing to say hello or help someone in need. I’ve enjoyed living here for many years.

I moved here from Gulfport, MS, so I guess it’s alright. Not too far from downtown ATL. It’s alright for now, until where I decide where I actually want to settle.

I moved from New Jersey.. but I have to say, Marietta is awesome. It’s about 20 minutes from Atlanta.. and it’s a nice place with a lot of things to do. The weather’s nice.. the people are nice.. I really like it here.

Mostly just see it more as a purchase seeking destination. Have gotten “lost” a number of times trying to figure out the blamed circle at the center of town.. :)

Favorites to visit include Barnes & Noble later at night when it’s quiet..

Oh, and Wolf Camera, of course.. I feel a 43WishList coming on..

Better yet, hopping on over to drop a a wish instead..

I grew up in Marietta. It was a great place. It was a picture of what was great about the old South. Manners, gentleness, kindness…all the remnants of the “common grace” bestowed on a region that was once influenced by the true gospel. Not to confuse the true gospel with the ‘cultural christianity’ that has become the norm. Gospel light could never co-exist with show business religion. And the two prevalent races predominant in my childhood have each settled into their own unique forms of this cultural slickness. Sad.
