Peace is the good way, boring as heck is the truth

When I fly to Hawai’i, it’s always to Oahu. I need to get out of this rut and fly to other islands.

Moloka`i is an oasis in a state which is quickly becoming an over-hyped tourist trap.

Where Waikiki is high rises and traffic congestion, Molokai is slow paces and beauitful, untouched places. Where Maui is crime and not walking alone at night, Molokai is care-free hitch-hiking, mule rides and what might well be the world’s best coffee.

Visitors be warned, though.

Moloka`i is vehemently opposed to becoming like these other islands. You are cordially invited to visit, but if you talk about buying, you’ll get cold shoulders and evil eyes.

Be gentle with The Most Hawaiian island. Responsible tourism, please.

Went there the summer of my high school senior year with my sister and parents for 2 weeks vacation. It’s total Heaven on Earth.

Very cool, laid back place. I love it.

So relaxing I didn’t keep up a travel diary. But I highly recommend Post-A-Nut and the Molokai Mule Ride to Kalaupapa.

It’s good to know that there’s still a place in the world like this, at least for now.

To Maui, that is. But it’s a start.

I decided this was the island for me after reading it had no traffic lights.

I’d go back here in a heartbeat. If you visit Hawaii, make sure you stop here.

Laid back, nothing to do but swim, surf, hike, bike and whale watch. No skyscrapers, deserted beautiful beaches. The place to go to get away from it all and experience a true tropical vacation.
