Grandpa says Vina is a very beautiful place. I like the fact that it’s a beach, haha, but apperantly it’s waaaay too cold. Aww:(
There’s also the music festival that we always watch on TLN but I want to see it in person.

My study abroad experience in Chile was unbelievable. Vina was beautiful and full of crazy experiences. I will never forget it!

I lived in this city for nearly two years.
Always have a jumper or warm clothes in the evening, all year round!
Mornings are always foggy.
Not much to do except in summer when basically the whole capital of Santiago tends to invade this place!
Has its international song festival in February and its international film festival in October.

I was here in July and it was cold and dreery. the hostels were a rip off for what you got – most importantly NO HEAT! it seemed touristy and just like one big outdoor mall. maybe it would be nice during the summer because I hear its a hot vacation spot for Chileans, but dont go during their winter because there is nothing to do!

I didn’t see much. It seemed very touristy but nice enough. I love the name anyway :P

I liked Vina del Mar, basically because it was the best place closest to my home port of Valparaiso. I work in casinos so I can tell you about that. Nice casino. Change your money upstairs for plaques and chips in chilean pesos. all sorts of games (craps, roulette, baccarat, blackjack and even some that are clearly only Chilean!). Cheap table minimums in a nice club. Ther eare some nice restaurants around near the casino as well, all reasonably priced. Small shopping area. If you are bigger than a size 12, you may as well give up trying to find clothes in South America.

Beautiful.
Ready to receive tourists.
Famous for its International Festival of Viña del Mar.
There’s a big clock made of natural flowers (I think there’re only two or three of this kind in the world ).
There’s an important casino.
Beautiful beaches, landscapes, etc.
