Why I recommend this place to visitors  — 1 week ago

    Worth visiting!

Just around the corner from Ground Zero (next door to 10 House – the FDNY firehouse for Ladder 10 and Engine 10) is the World Trade Centre visitors centre which opened last year. A very moving experience, they had various items from the site and the guides who show you round are people who were either at the WTC on 9/11 or were related to people who were there.

    Not worth it!

unfortunetly my visit to the World Trade Center was too late. The towers had already fallen and while I’ve been to NY many times since I never did get to see them in all their glory. Such a shame. The park they are putting in will be nice I’m sure but not as powerful as those goliaths when standing.

I went to the hole as it was still being called back in 2002. It was very erie, my anxiety level skyrocketed as we got closer and I flet like I could feel the painc of all the people that tried to flee the area on 9/11.

It’s a very humbling place, it puts life in perspective and makes you realize just how fragile life is.

Worth visiting for its significant place in history and for the nearby Century 21, Manhattan’s bargain mecca. You could appreciate the sheer enormity of the towers by the size of the land where they used to stand, though.

I went again on Sunday and for the first time it really hit me, I remembered being on the observation deck, above all of New York years ago. I looked to the place where I stood and it was gone. It was like the feeling you get when you go back to your old neighborhood and something from your past is different or missing.

Was there for the one year anniversary and again on New Years Day 07  — 1 year ago

    Worth visiting!

When I visited the missing flyers were still (sept. 02) up which gave a more personal feel to the experience. The steel cross gave me goosebumps. A sobering experience. I have since been back there once more to view the progress. Still cannot believe that happened.

A review of this place: Little to see except construction  — 1 year ago

    Not worth it!

Not knowing anyone who died in the WTC, it was still emotional to read the names, but aside from that, there is little to see here except a large hole surrounded by gates where they are pretending to start construction. It’s disappointing to see the vendors selling photographs and other souveniers, making a quick dollar off so many deaths, but I suppose that’s America.

I suppose it might have been interesting to go a few years ago, but today it looks just like any other construction site in the US.

AGAMUM asks, “How can this still be standing? It is the little church across the street from Ground Zero. It was a refuge for the survivors during the aftermath of the horrors that day.In front is a cemetary filled with tombstones acouple of hundred yrs old.”
