Manassas

I had to go here for my Company Training and to be honest, its definitley not worth visiting. It was a very boring place to be. Sure, it was pretty and all that, but the class of people was very bad, and for me being a Yank, I found it very hard to fit in. The southerners down there are not exactly friendly.

Ok, so, I live here..and I say this place isn’t worth visiting. I mean, if you want to come here to say you’ve been to Manassas, by all means, stop on by, i can’t guarntee you’ll be happy. The biggest attraction aside from Old Towne is Bull Run Battlefields…site of the First and Second battle of Manassas (Bull Run)...with the first battle being the first MAJOR land battle of the Civil War…we’ve got a Micron plant..2 Wal-Marts, lots of mexicans, no public transportation, horrible traffic, and the Bobbits were here..but, if you’re a Stephen Stills fan..yes, you can visit the train station which is on the cover of one of the albums of his supergroup, Manassas.

Old Town is pretty cool… Great cajun restaraunt: Okra’s Louisiana Bistro – they have live music on weekends.
the Victorian Tea Room has GREAT tea, and good food too if your into that sort of thing.
My favorite place in Manassas: Philadelphia Tavern. It’s right near that old train staion from the cover of Stephen Stills’ Manassas.

My dad grew up here and my grandparents lived here when I was little. I loved it. Hot Virginia. Some folks still call it “the War of Northern Aggression.” Visited the battlefields a lot. Spooky, but neat.

nothing special
