Pebble Beach

Hey I was wondering if either any of you attend(ed) RLS? I did – graduated class of ‘04. My mom still teaches there.

I go to boarding school (a REAL school, not a screw-up school, okay?!) in Pebble Beach. I hate it. It’s gated, there’s nothing to do and the people tend to be snobs and TERRIBLE drivers. Granted, it’s beautiful and I love to golf, but other than that it’s a waste of time. Unless you know where the party of drunk high schoolers is. In which case, run.

My grandparents only started living in Pebble Beach around the time I was born, so for me, as opposed to my parents, it was always where grandma and grandpa lived, in a great house in the Del Monte Forest - big but not one of the ridiculous monstrosities being built there these days. It was a wonderful place, and thinking back on it now, as well as the memory of my grandparents, both now long passed, the feelings are tinged with sadness a bit. But Pebble Beach is still a wonderful place to visit - its reputation for beauty is well deserved, and I count myself fortunate to have had a personal connection with it all these years.
