Lappland aka: Lapland,Sápmi

Went hiking there in 2005. One of the most amazing places i’ve been to.

I just spent a couple of days in the remote Kimberley doing a bit of camping, and was accompanied by a couple of Finnish Backpackers, who live in the capital of Lapland! They said I can stay with them if I go to lapland. They recommend christmas time, when it is all snowey and spectacular.

This was a big surprise for me and my brothers when we were younger – we only went for the day but it was a fantastic experience! Rode on a sledge pulled by huskies and a sledge pulled by reindeer, rode on a snow mobile and met the real Santa :) and it was all on top of a frozen river… Beautiful, absolutely worth going.

I’m loving it.
