John Hancock Center

When I stayed in Chicago for a couple of days the other year, I had the chance to enjoy views from both the Sears Tower Skydeck and the Hancock Observatory. Personally, I preferred the latter to the former – better views, shorter queues, and more efficient security checkpoints.

I think the view from here is better than the Sears Tower. Plus, the shopping is more intense in the area too.

It’s just nice to have a view of 4 states from one single tower. If you go to Chicago, you have to look for John Hancock Observatory. 80 miles up, vertigo and an excellent view, take pictures, it’s amazing.

Better views and shorter lines than the Sears Tower

Went up to the Signature Lounge for drinks but it was really really foggy outside and I couldn’t see anything. Oh well, it was still a cool elevator ride up and it leaves me something to look forward to next time I’m in Chi-town.

Across the street from the Hancock Tower is a church with a great looking spire. The particular time we were there they had shiny blue ribbons tied all over the front trees. They shook with the wind & sparkled like jewels. I know that they were for something but I was so overwhelmed by how beautiful it was that I don’t even remember what their purpose was.
Also, the old water tower is next the the Hancock & its great old style architecture too.

best views of the city—far better than sears tower! the sunset is great from there too, aswell as 4th of july fireworks! well worth the price!
