I am planning to visit in Sept. What are the good hotels\beaches to stay\visit.
Are there any boat rentals that i can rent to cruise the coast?

A tip I have about this place

In my opinion, Playa del Carmen is more bearable than Cancun, but very touristic…very polished and packaged. I only went there because the friend I was traveling went over to Cozumel to dive. The beach is nice, but I found Tulum to be far superior. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for. It does seem like a jumping point for heading to Cuba though.

Beautiful and relaxing in every way

Great food, gorgeous part of the world, safe, weather is awesome 99% of the time. Husband and I went on honeymoon there in 2005, then we went back in 2006 and 2007. We’ve made friends with folks on playa.info and intotheroo.com and have met up with them in PDC and other US cities for “Peep Meets” through playa.info. Fly into Cancun, take shuttle for 30-45 minutes to this serene and exciting getaway. You can stay as cheaply or lavishly as you’d like – there’s something for everyone. Ex-pats from all over the world have started restaurants and businesses in this area, giving Playa a noticeable international flair. Can’t be beat!
