Council Bluffs

I had gone to Omaha for work. One night I thought to myself, “Hey, I’ve never been to Iowa before. I ought to give it a try.”

So I drove over the bridge and crossed the river into Iowa. I drove around, stopped at a grocery store and bought an apple. Then I drove back to the hotel in Omaha.

Boy, do I live the high life when I go to Iowa, or what?

I spent the night here in a hotel as I was driving across country from Jackson MI to San Francisco CA in 1985

Was born here and he recently died. I want to go back to feel his spirit—we used to come every summer and I loved it—that and Avoca.

I have to include the place I was born… Nothing much to boast about about, but a real slice of Americana.

I earned my AA degree at Iowa Western Community College there! My degree is in Interpreting for the Deaf. I also worked at the Iowa School for the Deaf while I lived there. Yes, we would go across the state line for fun, but there were some good times in town too!

If you’re interested in railroad history & Lewis & Clark…Scenic views of Missouri River valley…Hilly, wooded, good trails if your into biking…Most of your culture is just minutes away in Omaha…Lots of wild turkies & deer

Who are these 3 people that think CB is worth visiting? Are you mental?

I was visiting a friend in Omaha and decieded to do a little sight seeing while he was at work.

I went across the bridge to Council Bluffs. What a dive! I turned around and went back to Omaha.

Do go unless you have to.
