my hood

are you kidding me? the main pic is the diner that was across the street from my apt. they had the best corn-beef hash and rye. you have to go play bocce at union hall, have a sandwich at press 92, and a beer at the park slope ale house. actually the list goes on and on…i miss my hood.

Why I recommend this place to visitors

Okay, so Park Slope Is GREAT! My cousins live here and i visit it frequently, at least 8 or 9 times a year..okay so its awesome to be here. It is a family friendly neighborhood. 6th and 7th avenue have great stores, and 5th avenue is starting to be gentrified too, its awesome. Restaurants to go to: well there are a lot, but the one i like the most is Cafe Moutarde on 5th avenue and Carroll. Be prepared for some great food and good service, in a bustling and fun atmosphere. Any more advice, and you can email me or try to talk to me.

The first time I went to this place

I had lived in Manhattan from 1989-1994, but had never been to Park Slope, Brooklyn. On a recent trip back to NYC, I went to Brooklyn and was delighted with what I found.

Park Slope is a historical and upmarket area with many fine brownstones, stores, restaurants on the West Side of Prospect Park. Carroll Street is one of the most beautiful streets in all of New York and has a rich variety of 19th Century architecture.

Along Fifth and Seventh Avenues you can find many restaurants, cafes and stores. The area is full of families and strollers, but also seems to accomodate a wide variety of people of every age and income bracket.

The first really beautiful spring day in early April we walked down Carroll Street. I saw magnolia trees and tulips and the sparkling golden brick brownstones.
